Brooklyn's 5th Birthday

I still cannot believe I have a 5 year old!  It is still little, but sounds old to me.  A few days before her birthday we went to Red Robin for dinner.  Brooklyn loved that they sang to her and brought her a free chocolate sundae.

She woke up on her birthday to a new bike!  She has recently learned to ride a bike without training wheels, so a bigger girl bike was just what she needed.  (Note: she is going through that awkward smiling stage...notice how many different smiles she has in these pictures :))

opening Grandma Betty's present

We also gave her a basketball (she started basketball last week), a doll seat for the back of her bike, and a new Frozen castle Lego set.  My mom sent her money for swimming lessons that are next month and the Bowen's sent her fashion dolls.  She is one lucky girl!

I made a number 5 pancake for her for breakfast, she loved it.  I love that they are so easy to please at this age.

picked out cookies to take to her preschool class

She started dance up again on her birthday.  She had been waiting for weeks to go again...perfect timing on her birthday.  She also is in the older class this time, 5-7 year olds, and has loved being in the "big girl class".

Brooklyn helped me make her birthday cake which she picked out, rainbow chip cake and frosting.

We let her and Jake stay up late with John to put together her new Lego Frozen castle.

I think she had a great day!

The 5 things I love most about Brooklyn:

1.  How helpful she is, whether it's picking up toys or caring after her brother and sister.  She is always willing to help and I'm so thankful she came to our family first.
2.  How much she loves girly things, but also loves sports and is athletic and coordinated.
3.  How she wants to be a good girl.  When she gets in trouble she is quick to say sorry, say I love you, and wants the reassurance that everything is ok.
4.  How quick she catches on to thing - learning to swim, ride a bike, a new song - she is a fast learner.
5.  How her mouth is constantly going (most days I love this).  Whether she is singing or talking, this girl always has something coming out of her mouth.
