the move

We left for Arizona on Friday, August 10th.  My brother Mike was so nice and offered to drive down with us (he rode with me and the kids in my car and John drove the truck).  It was so nice having his company in the car and all his help unloading, unpacking, etc.  We left Salt Lake around 10 am and only drove to St. George that day.  John's parents just moved to St. George, which is a little less than half way, and it worked out so well to spend the night there.
This is a sad sight - all our boxes packed up and ready to be loaded.

Jake was such a good sport at taking a bottle most feedings those days that we moved.  It was much quicker to pump, put him in his car seat, and prop up his bottle so I could do other things.

Brooklyn, Mike, and John with our truck.  John had originally gotten a 14 foot truck, but once he picked it up and brought it home, we both looked at it and just knew all our stuff wouldn't fit.  So luckily, before we put any boxes in, he took it back and was able to get a 17 foot truck for no extra charge.  And thank goodness because it was PACKED tight!  John's sister Heather and her son Cameron came and helped us pack it, which was so helpful...as well as my brothers Pete and Rich.

We pulled in to St. George around 3:30 and relaxed, went swimming, ate a delicious meal by Betty, and then the boys got in the hot tub and relaxed.  It felt so good to be out of the car and Brooklyn loved going swimming with Uncle Mike.

I don't have any more pictures from the move....but Saturday we woke up and were on the road at 8 am.  Betty drove in the car with me and the kids, Mike went with Marc in his car, and John continued in the truck.  We were able to follow each other most of the way and it worked out well.  This day was long though (the kids had both had enough of the car!) and we were so happy when we finally pulled in to our apartment complex.

John's cousin Nate and my cousins Mike and Camille showed up to help us unload.  I checked my phone for the weather when we started and it was 115 degrees :)  SOOOOOO HOT!!  I was the one in the truck pushing boxes to the end for people to bring in to our apartment and I was dripping sweat.  With everyone's help, it only took us an hour to unload everything.  We got to work - some put together beds and kids furniture, some entertained the kids, and some started putting the kitchen things away.  We couldn't have done it with everyone's help and we are so thankful for it all!
