Honeymoon - part 2

Tuesday, March 23rd:

This was probably our most relaxing day in Hawaii.  We slept in, went to our favorite place for breakfast (Wailana Coffee House - this is a local place that was within walking distance of our hotel.  We ate there almost every morning), and then spent most of the day at Waikiki Beach.  It was really super crowded but we still had fun.  Our hotel was right on the beach but also had a few pools, including a reflection pool that overlooked the ocean.

We were walking around downtown when strangers holding parrots came up to us and put these on us.  We thought it was pretty cool until they recommended a $10 tip.  We gave them $5.

this was our hotel

Wednesday, March 24th:

We woke up at 5am to catch our bus that left at 6 to take us to Pearl Harbor.   We loved it!  I had been there before, but it was so neat to see the memorial again and learn more about what went on during the attack and watch a documentary with footage from that very day.

One thing new I learned this time was that those who survived the attack have the option to be buried with their fellow shipmates once they pass away.  They will cremate their bodies and have a diver take the ashes down to the ship...I thought it was interesting.

After Pearl Harbor our bus dropped us off at the swat meet for a couple hours.  This was one of my favorite things.  Everything was so cheap!  We bought 8 shirts for $20, sweatshirts for $10, necklaces, swimming suites, and beach towels.  After about 20 minutes of walking around everything starts to look the same, but we had fun and got some good stuff.

Once we got back we just relaxed on the beach and went shopping downtown.  We ate at Margaritaville that night - delicious!!
