I have gotten some interesting comments the last couple of weeks from people about being pregnant. By interesting I mean some that are nice and some that are just rude. John has had to convince me not to be bitter about the rude ones...but I just don't understand why people say things or what goes through their head before they say them. I won't name any names, but wanted to share a few.
Let's start with the nice ones....
- "You are how far along? Wow...you look great!"
- "You've only gained weight in your stomach."
- after feeling my belly...."you are all baby"
- You're such a cute pregnant lady."
Now on to the not so nice ones....(and these are all comments after people have looked me up and down)
- "Wow...you're going to have a BIG baby."
- "You look sooo ready to be done being pregnant"
- "Has your due date come and gone?"
- and my personal favorite "Are you carrying two in there?"
I'm sure I will get more in these last few weeks...and promise I won't be bitter about them.......well, at least not for too long :)
People don't have brains I swear it.... gosh. Think about what you are saying.... would you want someone to say that to you? I think I would bite "that persons" head off who said are there two in there. Since I know who it is ha ha. Hang in there Beck... you are so close to being done. You look great... and you look exactly how you should look.

ReplyDeleteDon't listen to the rude comments! People (especially men) are clueless when it comes to pregnancy! I for one think you look great and I'm the one who should be worried as I look the same as you and still have 5 months left!

ReplyDeleteYep. Heard those myself. You'd be surprised at the comments people will make once you have the baby too. I can write a book on the comments made to me about Matt and Lili. I agre with Camille--no damn sense!
ReplyDeleteStupid people never learn. I swear. And for someone to actually ask you if you're carrying two??? Are you serious? Beck you look amazing and DEFINITELY don't look like your carrying twins

ReplyDeletebecky, I can SO relate! after 3 pregnancies and STUPID, IDIOTIC comments EACH time I have come to realize that it's best to just grin and bear it.
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time biting my tongue...and found out that never made me feel better...
If anything, you and John have both gained insight on how to talk to a pregnant woman! ONLY say she's "glowing" or "beautiful" or "will make the best mommy EVER!" -- any comments about size - big or small - are off limits!
enjoy being pregnant and savor those kicks! that is what i missed the most after my babies were born...nothing can duplicate the feeling of a baby moving inside you! :)

ReplyDeleteOk seriously? People are SO DUMB! I think EVERYONE gets those stupid comments. I just don't get people. YOU ARE SERIOUSLY SUCH A CUTE PREGO LADY!!!
ReplyDeleteAfter a rude comment...look them up and down and say, "Man, you and I look like twins!" and then just glare. Should work like a charm.

ReplyDeleteOh man you have to love people. They should send out a list of things never to say to pregnant woman. Like "Wow your big" (I got that the other day). Soooo rude!
