Since John has been out of school (two weeks now), we've tried to do some fun things to keep us all busy and to enjoy some family time before we leave for California/Utah for the rest of June and July.
We have zoo passes and went last week when it was cooler that day (only 102 :)) Brooklyn loved seeing all the animals and walked most of the day. I packed lunches for us and we found a shaded spot to eat. The zoo also has a splash pad that Brooklyn played at for awhile.

Jake, with red cheeks, was a trooper. He just sat in the stroller happy and sweaty most of the day.
A mandril I think? Brooklyn kept asking why it's bum was purple/pinkish. I didn't have an answer for that one other than, "just because".

After this happy family picture, we were on the train ride,....the kids started to lose it, Jake especially. He threw his binky off the train so we were binky-less the rest of the ride and there was no getting off until it had gone all the way around the zoo. I'm sure the people around us who paid money to ride the train were thrilled to listen to our kids scream, instead of the tour guide talking over the speakers. We were ready to get off that thing as soon as it stopped! And then we headed for home after we quickly let Brooklyn ride the carousel.
Haha, I love B's question about the animal's butt. I wonder that same thing. It looks so hot!!
