Bear Lake [part two - 4th of July]

We had a really fun 4th of July.  Heather bought and gave everyone super man shirts to wear, which were really fun, and we went to a park that morning for the "Mortensen Olympics".

I found the girls these matching 4th overalls and thought they were SO cute.

I love them!

..and I could eat her.

We did the pledge of allegiance, marched in a parade to the Olympic song, and played lots of games.  Sonya and Solomon were in charge and did a great job coming up with an obstacle course for us.  The kids raced against each other first and then the adults.

I packed lunches for us after and we headed to the lake for the first time.  It was the busiest it was all week, but still not bad.  We had one side of the beach to ourselves.

After spending the rest of the day at the lake we came home and ate, bathed the kids, and put them in their matching pajamas (my favorite).

Bear Lake [part one]

The Mortensen family reunion was in Bear Lake this summer.  It was SO.MUCH.FUN.  Definitely a highlight of the summer for our family.  We were there July 2-9.  Marc and Betty rented a HUGE house for all the family to stay in together.  Each family had their own room and bathroom and the kids had tons of room to play!

Church on Sunday - I thought this was the sweetest site and quickly grabbed out my phone to snap a picture.  Gpa, Gma, and Rem heading in to church.

We headed to the tabernacle after sacrament meeting to look around.

I love these crazies and can't believe they are all mine sometimes.

We hung out at the house the rest of the day, just relaxing and letting the kids play.  Jake and Royce had fun in Gpa's ride.

Seven Peaks and Thanksgiving Point

I bought the pass of all passes for our family before we came up to Utah for the summer.  I got a great deal and knew we'd use it a lot for the swimming.  We met our best friends Tal and Alison there several times and the kids had a blast.  I wish I had taken more pictures.  B, J, and R loved the big slides and were so brave going down there (Brooklyn even by herself).  One time we went the girls were all wearing matching outfits, not planned.

I met my friend Mandy and her cute kids at Thanksgiving Point one morning to see the animals.  They rode a pony (except Remmy...she was too scared), went to music time, went on a wagon ride, and had fun looking at the animals.

I don't know what Kate was doing to Quinn...
It was a fun morning together!  We miss our Arizona friends so much and are grateful for any change we get to see them.

Misty invited us to a bounce place for Sophia's birthday.  It was fun!  Jake especially was all hot and sweaty by the time we were ready to go.

cousins and Lagoon

We played at Jillian's house one day with her kids and Camilla's.  It was fun to watch our kids interact and play, but even more fun for me to sit and chat with them.  I wish we were able to get together more often.

We spent one day at Lagoon with the Bowen's, Mike, Mandy, and the girls, and my mom and dad.  It was hot and fun!  The kids loved all the kids rides...well I shouldn't say all the rides...most of them.

love that cheese face

Tidal Wave - Brooklyn and Jake were a little worried about this one at first..

started out happy..

..look closely at that terrified, crying face!

Poor Jake...here he is happy and excited to be on this dinosaur egg ride...

...that quickly changed to terrified and crying when it started going up.  I think he is afraid of heights.  He loves the fast, spinning ones, but NOT a fan of the tall ones.  Poor kid.  What do you do?  I stood there calling his name and laughing.  People around me probably thought I was awful for just laughing.  It was pretty comical though.

I got him to go on a roller coaster with me shortly after and he didn't seem too traumatized.

This little gem went with the flow all day long.
